Co-operation between the sexes

In this volume the Ansbachers present the theory of the personality of Alfred Adler (1870-1937) investigation of a fundamental human dimension sex. The writings describe, with the help of clinical cases, the aspect of the development of sex, the attitude of women and men towards sex, courtship, sexual attractions, troubles in love relations, sexual education, the division of duties and tasks and the preparation to marriage.
The individual analysis of the mythical inferiority of women. The origins of tensions that continually disturb the harmony between the sexes which threaten and often destroy and possibility to be happy and present to the child the idea that marriage is something difficult and dangerous instead of "What's a better way to raise the future generation”.
Furthermore, you can see and understand the motivations that brought on the falling out between Adler and Freud, as Sodini underline referring to Ansbacher, "Adler was a Freudian when Freud was an Adlerian”.
Other news from a international contest about this book are from James R. Sulliman NASAP President and Steven Slavik, Editor of Canadian Journal of Adlerian Psychology, written for the presentation of the Italian edition of the book.

Dear Ugo,
I was very pleased to learn an Italian edition of Cooperation Between the Sexes is now available. Writing at the start of the 20th century, Adler was one of the earliest champions of women’s rights. Although his views on equality are now very contemporary, both men and women resoundingly denounced him when his writings were first made public. Adler believed that a hierarchical male dominated society there must be equality between the sexes as well as mutual respect. He clearly stated that only through mutual cooperation would both the need of society and the individual be met.
The publication of Cooperation Between the Sexes should prove to be extremely useful to anyone employed in the areas of psychology, counselling, sociology, or the helping professions. Some may disagree with the concept of equality between the sexes and point the United States and the decline of traditional families as evidence of the problems that equality creates. When people have been oppressed against their will, however, they often strive for superiority rather than equality and this creates other problems such as high divorce rates, self interest than marital or family interest, and a general attitude of doing what is best for oneself as opposed application to entire nations and their relationships to one another.
This book is truly an Adlerian classic. I hope that its readers will find useful information that they can apply in many diverse disciplines and that they will have an increased desire to learn more about the Individual Psychology of Alfred Adler. On behalf of the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology and I congratulate you on this accomplishment.
Sincerely,

James R. Sulliman

To Whom it may concern:

I am pleased to hear that the Sodinis are receiving well-deserved recognition in Italy for their foresight and effort in making the writings of Alfred Adler and the commentary on them by the Ansbacher available in Italian.
The translation of Adler into English and the commentary on his work by the Ansbachers is well-known in North America and England. The two books that the Sodinis translated into Italian are extremely well known and used in almost all classes in North America that teach the psychology of Adler. All student who learn counselling and psychotherapy in the Adlerian style use them. No other texts are such high demand.
In addition, the commentaries that the Ansbachers have added to Adler’s text are almost canonical in North America. All other research and commentary start with the Ansbachers’ understanding of Adler and progress from there.
You are to be congratulated for recognizing the importance of the publication of Cooparation between the Sexes in Italian and for recognizing the efforts that the Sodinis have mate to translate and publish this work.
Sincerely,

Steve Slavik, M. A. Editor
